Thanks, Rose. I agree wholeheartedly, and pray that we may be tender-hearted enough to help everyone married to discover the promise and the beauty of your comment, in Christ.

Proverbs 14:27 The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, that one may turn away from the snares of death.

Hebrews 19:22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts usprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

I am blessed when someone corrects me. Tells me to take a bath. Offers me a mint. "Here, Bob, take a mint" Then people won't shy away from my stink. Ah and why wash? So that we can better sread the Good News to all! Yes, Father Len let us all be foutains of living water in our community.

I have heard many times that we need to be filled because we leak. But, why do we leak? Why are we leaking? Might it be that we leak in two opposing ways.

When I have heard "we leak" it has seemed to me that we leak because we need the living water to combat our sins and our sinning. As if the living water washes the sins from us, washes them down stream away from us. We like being refilled so as to continue the washing.

But, you are right. The more LLJ24/7 (see www.lw3.org) way to use the grace of His living water is to spread it around rather than holding on to it to be used only for the washing our own sins. A bit selfish when you think of it this way. I believe that we are called to show the world how 'wet' we are in all the ways that Paul teaches us about love in 1Cor13.

I've grown to love this story over the years. The implied Jewish history of healings that happened in that water, available first come, first serve. And then here He comes, the Living Water, and He seeks out those He would heal. All we have to do is exercise our faith and our free will and Jesus will heal us; sometimes physically and always spiritually. Thanks for sharing your insight!

Enjoying a little morning devotion over breakfast. Greg says: This is awesome! A true oasis. Sarah says: I love that it's bite-sized but hearty, like my breakfast.

Love you Dad.

Hello Michelle: So glad to have you reading the lessons with me, and others. I try to create some thoughts on each day's readings, with the exception of Sunday. And indeed, sometimes I'm challenged by my own response, particularly in how to find Jesus' challenging "middle way" between upholding what's right and showing mercy. I guess that why He's in charge, and I'm not! Blessings to you and Bruce!

I'm reading the "Nativityoasis" for the first time, and the notes are inspiring. I think the wall of judgement is a big one, and in your note on " beloved" it is easy to come to the feeling of self righteousness. If you think someone is getting away with something though, letting it go and not reporting it is not right either, although it is making a judgement. So it is difficult, and even Jesus didn't let people get away with things, although He has the power!
